re: Candy

TGIF. My plans tonight include getting high as fuck, watching wrestling, mani/pedi, worrying about nix, maybe a bath, either noodles or perogies (possibly both?) finishing Dracula, and let's try for a movie? Or maybe I'll just play video games until I pass out. Everything at work is a mess, and I'm looking forward to abandoning it all for the weekend.

16. What’s Your Favorite Candy?

Whatever is in my mouth at the given moment. There's been a lot of it this week.

[497] they've hired men with the crab-tree sticks to cut him skin from bone

Just a quickie update today, since Marvel Move has folded and I refuse to let any part of my emotional support fitness app become lost media so all my free time at work for the next couple of weeks (or until I finish) has to go to painstakingly pulling mp3s from the source code of the website.

Inception on the big screen again was so fucking sick. Truly a movie that emphasizes the ultimate power of the rule of cool over all else.

I have last night's Dynamite ready to go on Plex when I get home, hype! Another belt, though, Tony??? Really???? THIS IS JUST THE INTERNATIONAL TITLE ALL OVER AGAIN, WHY NOT UN-UNIFY THAT ONE INSTEAD????? Whatever, at least the casino gauntlet match for it should rule.

How is it only Wednesday?

I don't know what this week is but not a fan of it. Love all the politics stuff but other life things are being a pain. Halloween was fun though I think I didn't do my face makeup dark enough to make a difference. Next year I'll do more and I was feeling a little ill, but had fun doing a picture with other people who were dressed up on staff. I wore my new dress from svaha with kraken on it and felt nice in it. By the time I was home, I was too tired to do trick or treating but someone else in my building did which was nice for the neighborhood.

Then it all got bad when I tried to sleep as I'd lie down and start coughing. I barely slept, so the next day got mucinex which did help. I managed some rest on Sunday, didn't work on Monday as I'm working Saturday. It helped that the past two days I'm working late so I could have later mornings, but next few days I'll have to get up earlier.

But just to add to this weird mix of days, I was driving home tonight and someone rear ended me. There's this annoying stop sign from a one way street onto a crossing. I turn right but there was a tow truck coming out so I was being cautious. Also it was late and raining, it seemed like I could go but saw cars coming down the street then felt a crunch. It took me a moment to realize that I'd been rear ended. I got out and it was an SUV driven by a young woman, so I changed my energy. I've been honked at this corner a lot of times for not turning fast enough. Instead, she was worried, we exchanged info and I drove home, spent an hour entering all my stuff into the online claim form and now trying to plan what's next. My car is driveable, the trunk and part of the bumper is crunched up and don't know when I'm going to figure out the repair. My insurance seems to be working quickly, but I'm tired and still congested.

Good news, my Yuletide is writing something that I haven't done before but a variation on something I've been thinking of.

[496] could be winter but I burn inside

Finished Poker Face last night. Good shit. Also did some yoga in a long-overdue attempt to stop being as goddamn sedentary as I have been since taking this new position. Also ate some pizza. It was tasty. Currently craving a tuna melt, though. And shopping online. And doing some actual work on the side, I guess. Heading to the movies after work, unless mom bails, since it's at 6pm and I would be unable to take the bus in time to go by myself. Unless I leave work early. Maybe I'll leave work early in that case. The concept of being salaried is still very strange to me.

NYC went ahead and elected the certified sicko mayor, which is pretty rad. Have a random wrestling video to celebrate, because it is SO IMPORTANT to me that after years of scrubs on the internet saying that Kris had to drop the alien gimmick to make it to the next level, she dropped the alien gimmick, won the world fucking title (right in front of me and my salad), and then IMMEDIATELY went back to being an alien, tripling down on the gimmick instead, with her insane Australian girlfriend recording a '70s sci-fi intro for her very first title defense followed by an entrance with sexy Dune boys???? God, this was everything to me (starts about 15 seconds in, though obviously Toni's entrance rules, too).

It looks like our usual seats at the theatre have been purchased! Inception is presumably a go! Okay, that means it's back to work time, and refilling the popcorn tanks will be my reward~

ETA: Actually, fuck work, I'm still thinking about that WrestleDream match again, because for all that it's still frustrating to see the 'two steps forward, one step back' steady progress of the AEW women's division, that progress should still be celebrated and it's just so fucking cool that two women were allowed to work such a subtle, deliberately-paced match as that one was without being given like, eight minutes to get it over with? All three (!) women's matches on the card were a solid 15/16 minutes long and all had wildly different feels to them, and that's just great. It's great! And that bit at 2:50 where Kris counters the Storm Zero by bracing herself with her arms at the last second is some amazing, blink-and-you-miss it wrestling, OKAY BACK TO WORK FOR REAL NOW.

[495] the world is a rock that's spinning so fast it'll give you jim-jams

November and still no snow lingering on the ground. We've had a few hardcore blizzards, but it keeps warming up enough right afterward for everything to melt. Madness. Beautiful, climate-change-induced madness.

Work's alright. Still getting the hang of juggling three techs on three different schedules, but we're getting a lot of work done.

Weight is way up. I am extremely sedentary of late and desperately need to do something about it, because it feels BAD. God, I miss my weeks off. Maybe shopping some more will help! (I may have randomly signed up for a fourth credit card)

Movies I saw in the theatre since my last update before yesterday: Corpse Bride (still neat), The Nightmare Before Christmas (still the best), Shelby Oaks (mid as fuck, but enjoyably spooky nevertheless), Black Phone 2 (rad as hell), ParaNorman (SO GOOD, why do I always forget how good it is), Christy (solid), Frankenstein (it's a goddamn travesty this is a Netflix movie, but at least it actually came here), Back to the Future (hell yeah). Inception tomorrow!

Also I have finally started using my long-ignored StoryGraph account, we'll see if I stick with it! I want the cute monthly charts everybody flaunts everywhere! Add me if you want to keep an eye on whatever public domain nonsense (with the occasional wrestling autobiography and House of Leaves reread) I'm currently picking my way through!

Oops, I disappeared again! Keeping on keeping on. Going to the movies a lot. Mad we didn't get Bugonia, though. There's lots that I should be doing, but also, I don't wanna? Maybe I'll just take a Monday night bath.

Wrestling remains very good. May I interest anybody in some shameless Hangman Adam Page propaganda?

24/26, out of 200 fics on AO3! This was a fun way to look at them. (Arbitrarily sorted by kudos to pull each letter for this, since there are some letters I had quite a lot of fics for.)
